WAV Audio Format


WAV is an uncompressed Windows audio file designed and developed by Microsoft and IBM. WAV files occupy an incredible amount of disk space, thus the need for compressed formats, such as MP3.

it is widely used on all computers.

Due to the Microsoft and IBM's influence, it is changed into the industry standard and has been a universal digital sound file format and almost all audio processig software supporting WAV.

Because WAV is an uncompressed audio format, so, WAV file is large and not suitable to spread on the Internet.
