CD Audio Format

What is CD?

CD is Compact Disc. It means compact disc digital audio. The standard CD audio uses frequency of 44100 Hz, and the speed is 88K per second, and the bits of per sample is 16. If the CD track is not damaged, it saves the best sound quality near to the original. A CD file is a file with extension ".cda", it includes only index information, and it does not include any audio data. No matter what long are the CD tracks, all their file sizes are the same, that is 44 bytes. Because the .CDA files do not include any audio data, they only contain the CD tracks information, you can not transfer the CD songs by copying the .CDA files to your hard disk. If you want to transfer your CD songs to your computer, you must use a cd ripper software like this CD to MP3 Ripper to extract the CD tracks to hard disk files WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG, VQF, and other more.
